Hm. I have found one old xhtml file where I managed to use a .ditaval to have
change bars in the margin, but have no idea where I found the information that
told me how to code the changebar option.
And of course, the nifty new(er) EasyProfiling addon includes a Styles dialogue
and options

You're right, I was using the CSS terminology "border" to refer to the document
property "changebars"; and indeed, the note under "limitations" does clearly
explain that the converters are not perfect ;-}
