I did a mailing list search of the postings related to providing
the path to the rgb database to Xvnc, so I think I've covered
the bases for the following problem so far. First, the symptom
is that all the colors gray80 down to gray76 are the same, but
then gray75 takes a big step down in

I beg to differ. For some reasons, TightVNC viewer
kept crashing on my Redhat 7.1 box.
