Why not just set your vncviewer in -listen mode and have a script that
they all click on to make a connection back to you with the server?
For example, your IP address is 1.1.1.1 and it's a public IP address.
On your router, poke a hole so that port 5500 TCP can be passed to your
computer. On you
You're right, I think that it is just a viewer but they do distribute a
recompiled "SmartCode VNC Server" inside their vnc manager application
with no source code available. Is that what he's talking about?
BTW, it's still being sold by them and integrated into their commercial
applications. A li
Tom,
Have you checked out the UltraVNC single click server yet? You, the
admin, create an exe with their tool that connects back to your computer
when they double-click on it.
It's really a no brainer for the end users because all that they have to
do is double-click on an icon on their computer
To be completely accurate, you can hide the VNC icon if you deploy the
UltraVNC version of VNC. There is an option to do this very easily when
deploying via the wizard inside VNC Scan. I'm not sure about the other
deployment tools.
I totally agree with the we need to protect VNC's image as a rem

If you deploy UltraVNC with the encryption enabled, this is not an
issue. This is because the encryption plug-in begins encrypting traffic
before the VNC authentication is transferred.

On that page, look for 0x1 and that means view-only.

I use a combination of both. I generally use RDP to connect to a single
computer over the Internet and then use VNC Scan to manage all of the
computers on that network using VNC from that desktop.
This way, I only need to publish one TCP port 3389 to the remote
network. RDP is generally faster
VNCScan - http://www.vncscan.com - has a mass VNC password changer that
does both standard VNC and UltraVNC MS-Login changes.

There are other free versions of VNC available that are still open
source and have many of the features found in RealVNC 4.0 Enterprise.
The best ones are UltraVNC and TightVNC. UltraVNC has more Windows
features while TightVNC has a nice mix of features and platform
independence. UltraVNC is
I wonder if the UltraVNC Video driver would work? I haven't tried it
myself but it seems like it should work.
You could try push installing UltraVNC and the video driver remotely
over the network using VNCScan to see if it will work. You can get
VNCScan at http://www.vncscan.com
Here are the
What program are you using to do the scan?
