Hi and Thanks Everyone,
I have a zyxel router; I have port-mapped to the machines behind the router
using ports 5900, 5901, 5902 to go to machines 192.168.1.101, ...102,..103.
Now, if I have all the suggestions right, I DO NOT need to change the

Hello,
1. Is it possible via windows registry to actually stop a user from shutting
down the server and viewer? Some enterprising users shut it down to stop

Thanks,

Hello,
I have searched the archives for the following problem:
when NIS is enabled, I can't get out with the viewer, period. I have already

Hello Learned List People,
Going a bit crazy here:
Does Norton Internet Security 2003 work with VNC, or NOT???
If so, can anyone please send their settings?
Sorry Peter, still trying to do this without SSH.
My settings in NIS:
'program control': vncserver.exe: permit
7;10006' error message.
Thanks for your help in mitigating my madness here;)

Hi,
I am trying to make it so that the people sitting in front of the 'host'
machine cannot shut down the vnc server.
Looking at the documentation in vnc server for advanced options, I see what
looks like instructions on how to make that happen, by changing a value in the
system registry.

Hi there,
I did contact Symantec, and they simply read me chapter and verse on how to
configure firewalls, even after telling them I HAD ALREADY DONE THAT!!
Frustrating.
I'll keep plugging.

I realize that maybe not many use the VncMonitor add-on but I would appreciate

while I am awaiting replies (hopefully!) about the vncmonitor add-on, does
anyone know if this will run nicely (look good) on a large lcd monitor (bigger
