Thanks Joseph, it's good to know that someone has it working! As I wrote earlier, I can get to another machine, but only if NIS is disabled on the remote machine. Others have said that they have it working fine with NIS 2004; I am going to try to remove it from the NIS firewall list and try to 'get out' and hopefully I'll get a prompt from Norton that will allow it to digest it.
For anyone else viewing these messages, look for similar listings around this date. There are some very helpful insights.
