Well well well....

I have actually gone so far as to uninstall and download vnc all over
again - but the same problem occurs. Without configuring NIS firewall (to
allow it to happen when I run vnc), with NIS enabled, I simply cannot 'get
out' but it seems that the first error that occurs is on the vnc side. I
get a box that has 'vnc viewer' on the top of the margin, and in the box it
says 'server closed connection unexpectedly'. Now, when I disable NIS, I
don't get that box and can get through just fine.

Any ideas?

VNCVIEWER.EXE, and Monitor and Permit WINVNC.EXE I do not run VNC as a
service on either machine, I only run VNC when I am actually going to use
it. I just chose those options when the programs were first launched, and
it has worked wonderfully.
