Try copying /var/qmail/control/me to /var/qmail/control/defaultdomain but I
don't think that will fix it... is myhost.mydom.or.jp supposed to be valid?
Also, have you tried turning on all vpopmail logging options?

Hello..
And again , the scenario repeats -> i write something about the patch.
Ken says that there is something missing
I say - it's in the distribution.
And the discussion dies -> nobody from inter7.com ries to access the home
page of the patch (i've checked logs) and i get no reply..
I'm not
Hi,
I am getting a "File Error 6" problem randomly in qmailadmin.
I can login fine, but from then on the error pops up when I go into any of
the other pages.
Most of the time its fine, but occasionally this error occours and logs me
out.
The qmailadmin binary seems fine,

Hi,
I am pretty new to vpopmail, and current we just setup a new mail server.
The scenario is as such. We have man user, eg support, support-mac,
support-linux etc ...
each of the mail account has it's own .qmail file.
However, the problem is as such. when someone send a mail to eg

1 - Don't enable roaming-users in vpopmail
2 - read http://www.palomine.net/qmail/relaymailfrom.html, but it's *NOT*
secure.

What? roaming-users works great, and it's much better than trying to hack
around on different ports trying to hide the smtp server. There is no way I
would rely on the sender envelope and expect to have a halfway decent smtp
server running.

I know.. but he want SMTP relaying based on envelope
sender address. Not SMTP after POP. And I wrote too that this method is *not*
secure.

I assume I won't have a problem, but if I move the vpopmail home dir, to
/usr/home and create a link of /home/vpopmail to /usr/home/vpopmail, will it
work correctly? or do I have to redo vpopmail

Using a symlink is very inefficient. You would probably want
to change the home directory of the vpopmail user, and re-compile.

No. What he wants is to be able to consistently send his email without
problems, and he THINKS that the best way to do it is to allow relay
based on sender address.
I believe that most maier programs can be setup to pick up email
immediately
uppon connect. If you can get outlook to do this, then
Are there any qmailadmin alternatives written in Perl or PHP? Something like
oMail-admin for vmailmgr?
Thanks,
Ed.

Your hardcoded IPs are safe (at least in my experience). The
POP-authenticated address are ADDED to the list -- temporarily.
It seems to be a well-tested solution
Good Morning:

i have recently installed latest versions of qmail, vpopmail, sqwebmail,
tcpserver, qmailadmin. all aspects of email operation seem to be working
fine except pop authentication. no trouble doing sending and recieving via
webmail...however...if i try to use an email client like outlook or
eudora.

I think he is doing this but the user disconnects and reconnected with a
new IP.
you can't do anything about it. just have them check before sending.

Rudy,
You can also combine both, if you like.
