/etc/vzlinux-release file and all base
packages should be replaced with the ones from VzLinux (this can be
easily checked by distsuffix - VzLinux packages ends with "vl7").

Hi all,
as some of you already noticed (https://bugs.openvz.org/browse/OVZ-6924), we
recently pushed new qemu packages (2.9.0) to the factory repo. These packages
have several dependencies that are not in the official VzLinux repositories yet
(they come from RH 7.4 and we are going to release
.com/ubuntu bionic partner
If this is not intended, could you fix the problem in the next package
release?

Yes, it is known that vzlinux8 repos can miss some packages from CentOS 8
repos, in this particular case - perl-common-sense from PowerTools repo.
Not hard to add, I'll take a look. But in general we primarily care of packages
required for Vz functionality, and in this case you have perl-Convert
Caused by rebase to 8.3. Should be ok now, please check.

That's right. We don't depend on CentOS releases in any sense. Until RH
publishes source code to CentOS git or some other places, there are no
obstacles in picking up and building that code for Vz.

Yes, a direct baseurl like https://vault.centos.org/6.10/os/x86_64/ should work.
Note however that vault doesn't seem to like massive downloads, be ready for
connection breaks etc.

replace centos*release packages. But since the VzLinux7 times, it only replaces
"centos-release", not the modern variety of centos release packages.

please don't be confused - VzLinux8 is just a Linux distribution, RHEL clone.
It doesn't provide Vz virtualization (it even has the same kernel as RHEL, just
it is built in Vz build farm).
So no, VzLinux 8 is not OpenVZ 8 at all and you definetly can't migrate
containers there.

from module. I remember that for some time we indeed didn't have python2 in
module so this could happen easily.
I'd suggest to simply remove python2-for-tests package.

Hi, yes, the easiest way to create a new template is to take template for the
previous version of the same distro as a basis. For example, here is how
debian-10 was initially created:

You have EPEL enabled and looks like ne ntfs-3g from there can't properly
replace the version installed from vzlinux repos. Youc can either disable EPEL
for now, or just ignore ntfs-* packages from it, or wait a bit while we are
testing this new ntfs-3g before merging it into VzLinux repos.
