I have just spent almost two hours working on something in open office
for a 'unexpected error' to suddenly close the document. The 'document
recovery' then opened up a blank form with none of my work. Absolute useless
piece of software.

Unfortunately I think I’m the type that needs a phone call and someone to just
walk me thru all this because I’m just completely unfamiliar with anything past
writing an email or going on a simple site like YouTube
There are OpenOffice courses in youtube, I suggest you take one, also
a book might help. I recomend Silje's books.

That type of support is only available from independent consultants and
firms that set their own price.

There are tools to 'decompile' microsoft access files, like mdb. But
in general, this will work for queries and data, and not for forms or
reports. However in essence reports are queries + document. Which
could be recreated in AOO given the correct use of writer.

64-bit versions for Linux and Mac have been available for years, see

For Windows there aren't short-term plans to add a 64-bit version, but
it is a reasonable future
