I see this is unanswered and screenshots are removed from the list, so
it's hard to guess, but this is probably a side effect of fixes for

The new behavior is, more or less, that when you use Insert - Picture -
From File and an object is already selected, the picture will often be
set as background for that object (and it will replace the object if
that object is a picture itself).
Are you simply noticing this new behavior or a bug related to it? Or
maybe it's a completely different thing, but without screenshots it's
hard to guess.
