I've solved my problem by adding this udev rule:
KERNEL=="ttyUSB*", ATTRS{idVendor}=="1d6b", ATTRS{idProduct}=="0002",
SYMLINK="modem",
led plugin as
explained in the instructions [3]. Quote:
Copy the compiled ESD plugin to the GStreamer directory:
# cp ./ext/esd/.libs/libgstesd.so /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/
Is there anybody on this list who did the trick with sound
redirection? Could you please give me some hints?

using 'yum clean all' on this list. It's
nearly the same big mistake as posting in html.
Seriously, do one need to clean all in this situation or clean
metadata should be enough?

You should not. There's a lot of reasons that were described in
earlier messages in this topic. I'm just adding that if you want to
support Fedora use your efforts wisely. Don't waste your time. Make
something that is sought after by Fedora users.
R
always wondered would drive encryption significantly reduce access

processor is it fast enough to be used with encrypted file system?

Yes, I know. And enconv can be used exactly the same way that iconv
used in the proposed script. But you don't have to guess the encoding.

Are you facing some particular problem with it?
For common theory of udev rules I found this page (first google
result, by the way) very usuful:

Could anybody suggest me a program in Fedora repos for plot

Never seen that, but I know for sure that LaTeX is the most powerful
tool for any typographic jobs. Google "business cards latex" will get
you a lot of examples.

Hi.
I need to convert a bunch of ascii-files to utf-8 encoding. Now files
have the following encoding:
$ enca poster.tex
7bit ASCII characters
Whatever I do (enca, iconv) I'm unable to change it to utf-8.
Is it possible at all?
TIA
