So I pushed the new version to my PPA, it should be published by now. Same as

In my case, touchpad hangup occurs in Precise more often than in Oneiric, Natty
etc.
Interestingly, it unfreezes after suspend & resume.

To expand on my previous bug comment, I can reproduce the issue now that
I know to try with 10 fingers and a nose instead of merely tapping and
moving quickly with 10 fingers trying to generate a spurious 11th touch.

I've been keeping a log of what order I connect and disconnect devices
to this laptop and whether it causes the server to hang.
Disconnecting the video, then the inputs, quickly seems to cause the
server to hang. When I pause before disconnecting the inputs or if I
