Thanks for the logs.
I've posted a test build that I'd like to receive some feedback on. It
uses the ACPI method to try and enable power to the card before trying
to do any hardware initialization. If it works I'll run it by the
upstream developers to see whether this is an appropriate solution to
same thing for me in LinuxMint 11 Katya.
But I searched my system and Launchpad and found in my Synaptic, that
the package nvidia-current-modaliases is a dependency of nvidia-
current!! But: nvidia-current and nvidia-current-modaliases have two
completely different version-numbers. In my Synaptic,

only the Nvidia proprietary driver then says nVidia driver activated,
not being used.
