I've just read through the article outloud (I often find it helps to

This bug has been driving me round the bend now for three releases of
Ubuntu. Edgy, Feisty and Gutsy. I really don't know why it isn't
getting fixed, any ideas?

person to say - OK I'll integrate a patch (that's been written and

compliance :-D

At the end of the day, if someone gets
given a PC with Ubuntu on, then they're more likely to use and stick
with Ubuntu.
It'd probably be a good idea to install using the alternate CD and the
OEM install for manufacturers. That way it'll prompt the user for
username, password etc etc w

The software usually installs on a access point rather than a PC. Do
you reckon anyone else would use it? I'd have a go if I thought it was

telling you that it didn't work. What would be much more useful
is a copy of /var/log/Xorg.0.log after X has failed to start. If you
have a USB stick you should be able to mount it manually and copy the
log file there.

quickly installed a webserver onto my vps, so I don't know how quick

I for one will be sorry to see you step down, but if your
responsibilities are taking you away from coordinating the ubuntu-uk
team then I guess it's only sensible for you to hand over the reigns

Kubuntu, I notice is much more similar to the interface they know and
love, so it'd make sense that it'd be the best choice for migrating
users from Windows. Is this true? Should I try using Kubuntu as novice
users first Linux distro?
