ago, it will be nice to try out the Pro and Games versions some time,
although I rarely play games, but still nice to have the opportunity to
do so on Linux to make Windows using friends jealous.

Sounds like a good release party, unfortunately I work evenings so
missed it. I just got home half an hour ago (it's now 01:30).
I am downloading the 8.10 versions of Ubuntu 32/64, Kubuntu 32/64,
Ubuntu Studio 32/64, Mythbuntu 32/64 via bit torrent and will seed them
during my off-peak bandwidt
a lot more seeders. I will try that out too when I
get the chance.

You may well be right. I downloaded Flashplayer 10, however, it was not
properly installed because version 9 was still installed via Synaptic,
so I uninstalled 9 and then Firefox was using 10.0.21.
So far the sound is okay.

Any hardware that works perfectly in Ubuntu is definitely worth knowing
about.
I currently have a BenQ scanner that no longer seems to work, and when

The attraction of the netbook is the small size. The 1000H model would
be too big, the 904 would be a good size and with a hard disk would
provide plenty of storage that is missing on the SSD-based netbooks.

Currently I cannot get VLC reinstalled, due to dependency errors. Is

It turns out that the fsck was just failing due to not finding a
partition, based on its UUID, which was incorrect. I updated fstab and
no longer get that error.
