I too have had problems with Firefox. Mostly sites with Flash. I have tried various recent versions of Flash, and most Flash-heavy sites just cause Firefox to crash or else I get an error saying that Flash is not installed. I also use Flock which works perfectly with Flash sites, e.g. the new Street View on Google Maps.
I have not heard of Swiftweasel, but I have heard of Iceweasel. Is it worth trying one of those to replace Firefox? I like Firefox, but not its lack of ability to use Flash properly in Linux.
