Providing you've got enough memory they it should be fine multitasking. My aspire (with 1gb ram) can play 720p video without dropping frames with firefox and amarok in the background so the CPU isn't too shabby. It also handles all the 3d compiz effects and ioquake3 pretty well. Eddie Armstron

Even doing fairly trivial things sometimes causes the ssd activity light to just stay on solidly and the laptop freezes for a few seconds (and it's not swapping. 0k swap used). Updates on it are a nightmare because they take so long and pretty much render it unusable until they're complete.
