I binned what would almost be a complete set of Ubuntu discs in the last
couple of months.

What worries me more was recently that for the 10th anniversary meetup
of the Anglian Lug we tried (and succeded!) to get a machine up and
running with redhat 6.0 (as this was the same release as was handed out
on cd-r at the first meet) which was much harder than anyone would have
thought. It turned out most mirrors didn't actually have copies
available and in the end someone had to use a set of packages found on
another mirror to build an install CD. I hope that Ubuntu historical
releases (and other Linux distros) stay available on various mirrors for
much longer!
