working with (K)Ubuntu 16.04 with any version of the proprietary NVIDIA driver.

Hi,
I now discovered that for the non-working usb stick,
/sys/block/sda/removable contains 0. This explains why the udev rule
does not trigger. If I adjust the udev rule accordingly, the device
works as expected.
As a somewhat dirty workaround, I am currently using this rule:

hibernate button is available but doesn't work. If I use a swap file the
hibernate button isn't available (in /etc/fstab: "/swap swap ..." and in

Hi. Sorry for the time of response :-) Well, I tried to suspend it
several times just on battery, just on AC and with both plugged in, but
it still fails. However, I noticed, that when it is just on battery and
I press a key to wake it up, it will shutdown, but do not switch on like
on AC or AC + b
And another thing, I remembered, could help. ACPI (I mean battery status
and some tempeature sensors). After system start, it works fine, but
after a while (say 10 minutes?), it just stop working, sensors are
showing 146 degrees of C, battery = 0% - not present, etc. I tried to

tryed it with the latest version from karmic running in a virtualbox. At
the moment, it does not look good at all, import of my settings from
jaunty didn't work, copying over the .evolution (and .cacert and
gnome2-private/Evolution) folder didn't work either and after setting it

generating svg output with the graphviz package (dot, neato, ... ), i
get a svg file which does not render properly. Opening it in a text
editor and saving it explicitely as utf-8 fixes the problem, so i assume
that the encoding of the file does
I can confirm this bug, too. And IMHO, it is a rather severe one. Caused
me quite some trouble after moving an important DHCP server to Ubuntu

Just installed Kubuntu 6.10 yesterday. Choosing "Reboot" or "Shutdown"
at logging out from KDE ends up in black screen like described above.
I'm not sure if this happened first time after changing screen
parameters (to 1280x960 and choosing my graphics adapter and monitor in
display settings from
