I am running Lucid (10.04) and I have the same issue. It was fine a few
days ago. When started from the command line, I get the following

The files I wanted - actually needed - to merge had the "document assembly"
property set to "not allowed", as shown by Acrobat Reader in
file/properties/security.

11.4 and getting DockbarX to work with window previews with the new Compiz
isn't working. I had to downgrade Compiz with this patch:

I have a similar problem - x11 crashes several times a week. I also use
an external screen on my laptop. I have an nVidia NVS 3100M, driver
version 275.09.07. Xorg version 1.7.6 (10706000).

After an upgrade from Natty to Oneiric I am also affected.

1. Many or all packages appear twice. For an installed package the twin entry
appears not to be installed.

It seems, that this error doesn't longer exist in the current version.
But I don't wonder, since the report was filed almost two versions
ago... Quality insurace must prioritize, if there are too many bug
reports and it is not enough time to review and fix it.

Strange. After uninstalling the modules from the ppa, reinstalling the
backports, and then running pulseaudio in verbose mode, the problem
seems to have gone away.

Guys - I admire your patience in discussing this issue. It is absolutely
beyond doubt that missing proxy support shuts off a large amount of
people. Everyone that has a job, goes to his office from time to time.

Maybe you need to recompile and modprobe nvidia.ko. Also, try the
nomodeset kernel option, since nouveau might claim your graphics card
before the nvidia driver is even loaded.

Ditto on that. Remote desktop is not usable on 10.04.
I have tried both AMD and Nvidia cards as well as several different
clients. My conclusion it is server side based on the host machine.
I really wish this bug is addressed quickly, I was counting on using
Remote Desktop for all my machines.

I added a small screenprint from this bug. Note that the search function is
called 'search' (nicely in English), but that the File manager is called
'Bestandsbeheer' which is Dutch.
Of course, this is just an example. Almost the full settings dialog is still in
Dutch, and there is more :-(

The fix in the ppa resolved my issue.
More details: I typically use webmin webUI to manage software package
updates on my Ubuntu systems. In the past, webmin uses apt-get in a non-
interactive window to install package upgrades followed by needrestart
to restart necessary services when configured
