10.10 here on a 1.1rev macbook.

patr...@macbuntu:~$ xprop -root | grep XKB
_XKB_RULES_NAMES_BACKUP(STRING) = "evdev", "pc105", "us", "mac",
"lv3:ralt_switch"
_XKB_RULES_NAMES(STRING) = "evdev", "pc105", "us,us", "mac,mac",
"lv3:ralt_switch,grp:shift_caps_toggle"
patr...@macbuntu:~$ gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd
 layouts = [us  mac]
 options = [lv3 lv3:ralt_switch,grp     grp:shift_caps_toggle]
 model = macbook78

The error appears immediately after setting keyboard model to
"Macbook/Macbook Pro", international or non international. Also
"Macintosh" creates the error. The error does not appear if I select
"Apple Laptop" or "Macintosh Old" for example.

I had reset my computer after ignoring the same error when set to
Macbook/Macbook Pro (I have a macbook) and my keyboard did not work at all. I
could not log in at the gdm. After struggling to find an xorg.conf file when
using a livecd, I gave up and reinstalled from scatch.

Needless to say, I am leaving my keyboard model set to something that
does not produce this error, as I am afraid I won't be able to use the
computer if I don't!
