I can confirm that /etc/X11/Xsession.d/70pulseaudio does indeed
forcibly start pulseaudio when starting a Gnome session. The comments

Tested from both Nautilus and Rhythmbox. The results are the same. The
title of the error message is slightly different, but the error message
itself is the same either way.
The screenshot attached is from a Nautilus eject. When ejecting from

All virtual machines and network interfaces were/are created via virt-
manager and libvirt. The host system's network interface is managed by
Network Manager and is normally the wireless interface, though I do
recall testing both wired and wireless for the host.

VMWare is definitely clearing the keyboard map upon focus and failing to
reset it if you can move the mouse out of the window with CTRL held
down. I can reproduce this 100% of the time.

It appears that the problem has gotten worse with the Hardy release.
While I've made the gconf changes necessary in Gutsy to get the icon to
display and those changes are still present in the current gconf
configuration on Hardy, the icon does not display. The ssh keys do
still appear to get cache
I've been annoyed by this same behavior since upgrading to Hardy. Note:
this is happening with the x86 (32-bit) version as well.

It appears that varkon does not create a menu entry upon installation.
Checking the package does reveal a /usr/share/menu/varkon file, but the
sections referenced in this file appear to be for the older Debian me

On a different system I noticed that gweather-applet-2 was reporting
usage of around 55MB. Granted the system does have two instances of the
applet running. However, after killing the process and allowing it to
restart, it's now only reporting about 17 MB used, a significant
difference.
