What kind of video card do you use? The new Xorg 1.6 broke both flavors
of proprietary drivers for many cards. (Mine included.) For my Nvidia
card, I had to add the following to my

latest release. You are probably no longer using the proprietary driver
because your card is not supported. The problem is, the latest X.org is

Fix. I recompiled libgpgme11 from source and that fixed the error
message. I can confirm that gpg encryption/decryption now work in

I have the same problem. Additional related behaviour: occasionally my
cursor will freeze for a second or two and then start working again.
When this happens my settings are also reset. This seems to happen
reliably when I reconnect to a wireless network (not the first
connection- must be a disconn

I also have this bug on my Macbook Pro 4,1 (Santa Rosa) running Ubuntu
x86. F1/F2 keys and F5/F6 keys suddenly stopped working after last

pommed and it did allow for keyboard and display brightness adjustment,
with some configuration, a side effect was an extremely sensitive track
pad and disabled the muti-touch trackpad functionality.

Python-visual won't build from source either. I don't know what I'm
doing wrong. All of the boost and python-boost (1.38) devel libraries
are installed, but the configure script complains about not finding
boost_python.

It appears that this is a well known interaction between OOo 3.0 and
Samba related to file locking. There appears to be a bug here for an
earlier distribution and OOo 3.1 and also issues listed in the OOo
forums and buglists. It can cause a crash on load or it can cause
unspecific 'general IO error
That bug was with 9.10 and 3.1.1, which worked OK here on the LAN. It
does have some similar characteristics, though. Interesting that it
showed with KDE but not Gnome. Maybe my using Gnome was why I didn't see
it. (potential experiment suggested in that, I wonder what the
difference is).

The workaround in autofs is to add -gid=1000,uid=1000 (e.g.) to the map
in auto.master so the directories created by autofs become owned by user
1000. That allows that user rw access. The problem is that autofs sets
the directories rwx for owner and just r for group and other. I think

I just ran into this issue (2018-01-04) on Amazon AWS. The nvme drive was not
detected on Amazon's Ubunto 16.04. Fixed after running
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade
apt-get dist-upgrade
reboot.
dist-upgrade seems to be the key. lsb_release -a says 16.04.03 now.

In 13.10 on an Aspire laptop with an HDMI attached 1920x1280 monitor the
background on one or the other comes up blank depending upon how I set
