I have the same problem. Additional related behaviour: occasionally my cursor will freeze for a second or two and then start working again. When this happens my settings are also reset. This seems to happen reliably when I reconnect to a wireless network (not the first connection- must be a disconnect then connect). My wireless chip is an Intel 4965 AGN. Perhaps this is related.
