The trick (I'm not completely sure) was going to KDE System Settings >
"Keyboard and mouse", and playing a bit with "Enable keyboard repeat" in the
Keyboard page.

I have new info. I'm using synergy at work to control both my workstation and
my XPS1330 from a single keyboard and mouse. synsergy server is launched on the
workstation, and synergy client is running on the XPS1330.

to BIOS version A12 fixes the problem.

After using a custom kernel, I noticed that whenver I disable b43legacy the b44
driver loads just fine.
When b43legay is enable at compile time b44 can't be loaded automaticaly. Note

Well, actually i MIGHT have found the solution of this problem, or better, the
cause.
On my system suspend/resume doesn't work, so some times I try to see if this is
fixed and, when resuming, the system hangs, and the only solution is a hard
reboot.

Just to let you guys know. The workaround proposed by Dov-El worked like a
charm with my Dell Vostro 1000 with Kde3.

installing FF2 fixed your crashing/freezing problem.

Blacklisting video didn't work for me.
Well... not completely anyway... it fixed the issue with multiple updates
after pressing Fn+Arrow, but didn't change my brightness.
Also, it got rid of my /proc/acpi/video directory (duhhh), so i couldn't even
change the brightness manually...

I'm reopening this ancient bug because the same thing is occurring with me on
Jaunty Beta 1.
When i press "End current session" the Kubuntu starts shutting down itself.

On Ubuntu Jaunty beta the wl driver of my BCM 4312 is loaded as eth0, the same
device as the b44 driver of my ethernet 4401, which causes the ethernet device
to disappear. This can be easily seen on the following command outputs.
