I'm using Hardy on a Dell XPS M1330 laptop.
I burned a DVD with K3b. After burning, K3b said it couldn't verify the
ISO filesystem image size--weird. I tried to mount the disc and see if
it burned correctly, but nothing happened. I tried to eject the disc

I finally discovered that some other kernel module packages were causing
an old 1.x.x version of the module to be loaded, even though the newer
module was also installed. After removing all the unnecessary module
packages, the 2.3.5 version of the module loaded, and I've had no more

I just did a clean install of Dapper on my laptop. My DWL-650+ would
not load the firmware until I ran "sudo ln -s
/lib/firmware/2.6.15-25-386/acx/default/ti* /lib/firmware". Now it
works fine.

A couple days ago, after doing a dist-upgrade, I hibernated. A little
while ago I resumed, and then did another dist-upgrade. I noticed that
the update-initramfs script was stuck again, so I checked, and sure
enough, "/bin/bash /etc/acpi/hibernate.sh force" is stuck waiting on
"modprobe thermal".

* update-initramfs: Keep an initramfs backup while we are running. Do also
keep the booted initramfs as .bak in /boot. First helps on power cut.
