Looks like xubuntu-default-settings wasn't migrated to using /usr/share.
I've fixed that in lp:~robert-ancell/xubuntu-default-
settings/lightdm.conf.
The reason lightdm wasn't starting was (from lightdm.log):

session, which effects the speed of animation-transition (e.g. soft fade vs

happens to me with other apps, like Firefox. This bug is so annoying.
Hopefully, you can drag the window by holding Alt, I mean, you can move

If I suspend (sleep) the computer (close lid), then wake it up (open
lid) the lock screen appears but if I type the correct password it is
