I've been upgrading to Karmic recently, and the new Gnometris seems to
keep a good response time at the higher levels, even with Tango Shaded
theme. It looks like that I'm not affected anymore by this bug.

rewriting the tooltip is just plain wrong. This bug is a regression (it doesn't
happen with Metacity) and some people are used to it.
Just changing the tooltip is *NOT* solving the bug and will send a wrong
signal. It's like closing the door when you see that your kitchen is on

was with Lenny and I upgrade my distribution to SID and after suspend and

On Karmic just installed, I got the same problema (on the DELL Dimension
C521). The issue seems to be only in the front plug, the rear plug work
great. The same issue was present also in Ubuntu 9.04, but now the fade
out is less fast and and sanmetime resetted, so the fade out can start
again.
