I added a new /etc/init.d script that just uses logger to generate a
message every second and set it up to start automatically at S99. After
rebooting a number of times it seems that the system goes about 85
seconds (lowest I got was 84; highest 87) after it starts my script at
S99, then reboots.
Sorry, it doesn't reboot. Just powers down.

I've also noticed that sometimes on resuming, Firefox doesn't freeze,
but it does use 100% CPU. When this happens, I think, but am not
sure, that it correlates with having Gmail and/or Google Reader open
in a tab in Firefox. I think that a few times, closing those tabs has
cut the CPU usage back
And now I've upgraded my other (main) machine using the same solution of
"sudo apt-get remove nvidia-glx". Again had no effect on my machine and
went straight to upgrade with no troubles.

Set property "mode" of the FingerScroll widget to 1 (kinetic scrolling), do

Yes this still is a problem. Not only is it a problem within the gnome
desktop, it's also a problem within xfce4 desktop. Both are based on
gtk. Is it possible that gtk is the problem.

better way to solve this is with HAL keymaps. Not having much luck here

To make it work, I have to rename my .oga to .ogg, then vorbistagedit
it, then rename it back to .oga.

Unfortunately, I don't have a testing machine at the moment and manually
fixed the issue in my SpamAssassin configuration in the meantime. I'll
look into it when I get access to testing hardware.

I got the same problem as Andy. I have been using xubuntu 8.10 for a
while and the problem occurs after a recent package update . .xsession-
errors gives very similar message:
