In Ubuntu by default there is no root password defined. If you did not
define one, you have to give the credentials of a user in the "lpadmin"
group. The first user which Ubuntu creates on installation is in the
"lpadmin" group.

No, I'm not an KDE dev. The solution from Chris to enable "Swap Byte
Order" shows that the error is a little/big endian problem. But why
__BYTE_ORDER is undefined in Intrepid? Maybe a runtime check is the
proper solution. IMHO the check should be done in lame and not in the
application calling lame

backlight not turning off, I used the following command to add to
xbindkeys in terminal:

when you do many things on start-up and it takes too long for the i8kmon window
to appear so gnome-swallower does not find it. It then asks it you wish to

What I miss is a clear bug reference to systems that would break if
led=1 by default. The fix might have been held back for years on
anecdotal evidence. Matthew Garrett promised to check this in comment

OOO2.4 and OOO3.0 call a specific font which is sometimes missing in the

This is the only way to make sure if this is still an issue or not if
the bug reporters don't update their bugs. Most of these segfaults
happen in alpha/beta versions of Ubuntu and they mostly get fixed but
the bug reports remain open forever.
Can you provide exact steps on how to make it crash?
Public bug reported:
readahead version 1:0.20050517.0220-1ubuntu4 (intrepid)
/etc/readahead/desktop is never updated during profiling. The cause
seems to be that when /var/run is mounted as tmpfs (after S01readahead),
readahead-desktop and stop-readahead can't find the pid of readahead.
Solution
This is occuring for me, its happened twice since installing intrepid 4
days ago. I have attached my lspic and lsmod output.
