I'm just wondering if this really is a "solution". I wish the updater
process would check for the available space before installing anything,
as well as was able to delete the old kernels if necessary. ATM I have
four different kernel versions left by Hardy's update process

Ok so I figured out Ive got a Via Rhine II VT6102 version 7c ethernet
nic. Apparently that uses the via-rhine module. So I did my fast way of
testing this instead of having to wait for it to "sleep":

I'm experiencing behaviour similar to that in bug #223647: the system
boots and runs unusably slow. Unfortunatly, upgrading the BIOS did not
help and neither did downgrading to gutsy server.

4 GB RAM

The same happened here. Only that I found out about it another way:
Totem played very slowly (1 frame/sec) the videos and had no sound (also
music seemed to play especially slowly). Mplayer was either affected
Sponsored and uploaded to the queue. Waiting for motu-sru's ack now
(subscribed them).

Yep, suspend, hibernate and resume working fine with -19 on the L30.
However, the above patch does not play 100% nicely with suspend and
resume (if the AC power is taken out whilst hibernated, a kernel trace
is encountered upon resume).

Sorry, my problem was due to insufficient space on /home partition. I remember
that previous
ubuntu version would warn you about low disk space. Everything works correctly
now.

i'm on hardy...with evolution 2.22
i had the same problem...evolution was storing folders so much it was
causing bad lag...and i had to close it.
ran across a suggestion for the command line...i ran it as root...it
seems to have fixed things for the moment...though it's only been a few
hours.

Hi,
So you are saying that wicd doesn't work when "lo" is configured in
/etc/network/interfaces? That sounds like a bug in wicd to me.
It seems we know the bug here now, so I'm going to modify
the report to reflect that.
I'm not sure that there is much that can be done about this.

I have the same issue, but I hear audio instead of static.
The sound comes from my tv capture card, which is connected to the
AUX/CD input of my soundcard.

Installing the hardy version of bacula-director-pgsql I can reproduce
this install error. Installing the hardy-proposed version fixes this
error, allowing the install to progress, but the maintainer script then
attempts to run a series of commands as the "postgres" user. This user
will only exist

I think I can understand that.
it is an annoyance, but probably not as much as it not working atall.
I also have to use static IP's, but what i've recently done is set DHCPD
up so that it knows of the mac Address's and then issues the same IP's
all the time. my problem is my laptop with a Netgear
