I also confirm this bug on a HP Pavillion DV6705el with a NVidia GeForce
8400m over a clean install of Hardy 8.04 for i386.
The function keys for brightness do work, so it's just a bit bothersome
to increase brightness every new boot.

I just upgraded to 8.04 and am newly experiencing this.
It occurs about 70% of the time. As you can imagine, that's really
annoying, and I fear it needlessly wastes power and time when it goes to
sleep, only to be reawoken moments later.

because it only happens when saving to the server, or at least I haven't seen
the error when saving to my Desktop / localhost.

Yes I am running Mint 5.0 beta. The Nautilus-Share package was not
installed for some reason it was left out of the Mint 5.0 beta distro
ISO. After installing the nautilus-share package the file and folder
sharing works fine. I posted the fix on the Mint Forum and several

I think it probably makes sense to change the manual page. After all, if
there's already (e.g.) a .ssh directory with the wrong modes, ssh-copy-
id won't be able to log in to copy the key over! It only makes sense to
worry about this when creating these entries to start with.

There are two major implementations of the man suite on Linux. Only one
of them provides makewhatis. The one I maintain builds its database in
other ways.

"The system is still remotely accessible: the webserver is still OK, and
I can login using ssh (from another machine). It turns out Xorg is at
100% CPU load (see top below). I thought a "sudo kill -9 "
would solve the problem, but that killed the remote SSH and HTTP access.
