Having the exact same problem with my Kubuntu 64-bit install when coming
out of suspend mode but the difference is that I have a Nvidia GeForce
6200 using the restricted drivers and an AMD Athlon 3400+ processor.
Before I upgraded to Hardy under Gutsy suspend worked fine after adding
the "nvidia" parameter to the white-list in the /etc/default/acpi-
support file plus some other minor changes. I did purge the acpi-support
package then again added the "nvidia" parameters to the white-list again
with no success. The problem occurs with or without Compiz graphics
enabled.
