automount points as robogeek but I see the same issues: my logs are full
of trackerd (I suppose) trying to read /.Trash where is
an automount point configured in auto.master.

Can confirm on both of my dell laptops. I think right decision would be
disable wheel-scrolling by default. Because it's really annoyng and
unexpected behavior for unprepared users. Another one is to lower
"wheel" sensitivity to require more than one click (and more firm drag)
to trigger switching.

This seems to be related to Xrandr failing.
Deleting /usr/lib/gnome-settings-daemon-2.0/xrandr.gnome-settings-plugin makes
the crash go away (at the cost of not being able to set the screen resolution
from Gnome). Not sure if this is caused by xserver-xgl or the new proprietary
NVIDI

I use 2.6.24 on my T2300 dualcore laptop, with kubuntu hardy (without
opera), and also 2.6.24 on a PIII-3GHz with debian unstable. Note that I
do see "Rescheduling Interrupts" as well on my debian, but less often
and less intensive. Isn't this a pointer to that it's however a kernel
issue?
As far as I can see, it's now fixed in usplash and usplash-theme-ubuntu

access for external USB devices. This was the solution for me for KDE4.
Now if the panel pops up, notifying me, that a new USB drive was

Indeed, most laptop users connect to the Internet via the ethernet port
XOR via wireless. If the wired connection is active, there is really no

I should probably also mention:
* Ever since installing feisty on this laptop, only 2 of the 3 speakers
have worked. The central "woofer" is always silent. It works if I boot
into Windows XP.
* The volume control has sliders for "Master", "PCM", and "Front". They
all control the left and right
I think I got an update lately, sunbird now starts with German locale
for me.

The upstream bug blames a Google Calendar account in Evolution. I don't even
use Evolution here and I'm having this very annoying problem.

After having modified general appearance of the desktop (through the "human
beeing" graphical menu) for several items:
-login screen
-desktop wallpaper
-some compiz settings
-emerald theme
The new "environment" worked fine in the current session, but after shut
down and boot
After some updates it seems to be fixed. I think I've seen flash crash
bit it's been rare and independent. Probably a different but and I will
file as such if I can track it down.

Thank you for your bug report. This behaviour was an ubuntu specific
changes which very few people used and that upstream was against and it
has been dropped now so that's not a bug, you can use the middle button
when clicking on press shift to do the same

I tested again with Centos 5.1 (Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.1). The
problem does not exist there. So this definitely seems to be an Ubuntu
specific problem.
