Thanks for the extra info.
I think there are two possible fixes for this issue.
The problem is the g-c-c checks for "epiphany" in the path.
This is a shell script shipped by the epiphany-browser package
that just execs epiphany-browser. That is an alternative provided
by both -gecko and -web
Approved for Gutsy. Similarly to #165174 this needs a much more human
readable changelog. Both changes should be applied to the current gutsy
package and uploaded in one go.
I see to sponsoring this a little later.

When shutting down three days ago, there was a kernel panic before
syncing the disks.
After that, akregator crashed, too. I'm running KDE 3.5.8, Kontact
Version 1.2.4 (enterprise 0.20070907.709405) on Gutsy.
To resolve this, I deleted two files in .kde/share/apps/akregator: lock
and lockPgRNWa.n
Some files packed into a tgz file is attached. My home directory:

I found the problem, but I need to talk with danilo and jtv before I
can provide you with a solution...
it's related with some data migration when we added native kde plural
forms support
it affects all KDE language packs, though, not just German ones
I keep the language-pack-kde-de task open

Your debs fix at least part of the problem.
It now correctly shows the status of the battery ( plugged in or discharging ),
and updates the %, but also still says "Battery discharge time is unknown",
while acpi -b says "Battery 1: discharging, 65%, 02:37:38 remaining"

As soon as the certificate is not 100% OK, there should be a message about the
problem, but you can only see a blank page.
The handling of SSL errors (i.e. self-signed certificates, expired,
IT WORKS!!! IT WORKS!!!
The solution of Jan Rathmann works on Hardy 64bit with nVidia 8500!
1) added vga16fb, fbcon and vesafb to /etc/initramfs-tools/modules
2) outcommented the blacklisted vesafb and vga16fb in
/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-framebuffer
3) added "vga=795" (1280x1024) to the kernel

I got confused. This is actually a problem with the PPA, not
the hardy package.

I am quite new to this software too, but on the current version that I use (the
one that is currently in hardy which is 5.21.92), the constant keyboard
shortcut seems to work only in the scientifical mode (both arithmetic and left
to right modes).
On the other modes, the shortcut do not seems to
this package is not in hardy, but comes from the bzr PPA; the fix is to
rebuild bzr and bzrtools in the bzr PPA with the current version of
python-central. Sorry for this necessity.

Thanks, James, but calling ui_init() in check is the wrong way to fix it
IMHO with the current code structure, since ui_init() will bring up the
main window. But --check should just keep the tray icon alive and
process events there. In gtk this can be achieved with gtk.main(). Does
Qt have a simila
