gdebi-kde since tribe 4 that I first tried it. When attempting an
installation it starts using all the available system memory and

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I'm using gutsy.
I deleted the "/home/username/file:" directory and everything is fine
now. I don't know what created that "file:" directory, I didn't.
Then I recreated the "/home/username/file:/home" directory and clicking
on Places->home drives me back to "/home/

Same here, on Toshiba Satellite Pro A100-PSAAA, using BIOS v5.90.
Keys used to work in Feisty, and no more in Gutsy. Using showkey -s, the

I have the same problem here. To fix it, I executed:
sudo time-admin
in my case, there was no selected Time Zone (Fuso Horário in Portuguese), so I
picked America/Sao_Paulo
and solved the problem.
Why this package is necessary? Just the tzdata package shouldn't be
enough?

@Bryce: the new version did NOT fix the issue; I probably caused
confusion when I claimed the git version "worked" on my box: it's
because there is/was an issue with git versions of the driver with
unpatched kernels or vice-versa.
The DPMS problem is still an issue for me unfortunately.

On a home network without any windows domain server or any special DNS
server config (just normal DHCP and public internet DNS). Do this:
1. Boot Gutsy Live CD
2. Select "Places::Connect to Server..."
3. Fill in service type "Windows share" and enter hostname (not IP, and not
the bad error message (it's way too generic, it doesn't tell you
anything useful at all)
