Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubiquity
I've tried to install the brand new version of Ubuntu. but I've had a problem during the installation. Due to the fact that, rebooting the PC, Grub started as a command-line interface (not the graphical one) and due to my small knowledge I've booted the old live version of Ubuntu 6.06 (i386), to install again Grub and so solve the problem... but during the installation a Grub error occurred (the same?) reporting: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/ubiquity", line 130, in ? install(sys.argv[1]) File "/usr/bin/ubiquity", line 55, in install ret = wizard.run() File "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/ubiquity/frontend/gtkui.py", line 266, in run self.process_step() File "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/ubiquity/frontend/gtkui.py", line 755, in process_step self.mountpoints_to_summary() File "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/ubiquity/frontend/gtkui.py", line 1114, in mountpoints_to_summary self.progress_loop() File "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/ubiquity/frontend/gtkui.py", line 553, in progress_loop raise RuntimeError, ("Install failed with exit code %s; see " RuntimeError: Install failed with exit code 1; see /var/log/installer/syslog and /var/log/syslog Thank you. ** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- "installer crashed" installing Grub https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/154863 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
