Hi everybody.
I have the same annoying problem on my Desktop since a while. This is on Ubuntu
Dapper 6.06.
But I have to say that the write access to the disk is every 5 secs and not 4
secs on my computer. They are blocks of about 30-70 kb written to the disk as

Drivers for a few minutes, and then it continues until Starting
Enterprise Volume Management.

The firmware upload utility should show it. It may also be possible to
read version information with Linux utilities, but exact specifications
from the firmware maker would be required.
If you can open up the enclosure easily and without voiding warranty,
check what chip is in there before trying

I havent seen anyone be able to reproduce this for ages.
If it isnt, please test with kopete 0.12.2 from dapper backports, and
