I manage to fix mine by connecting a wire from the motherboard to the Radeon
card.

the ubuntu-audio-dev PPA, reboot and report back as to whether audio is

had a fresh install of karmic koala. My workaround was to install the
proprietary ATI/AMD FGLRX Video drive. My best guess why this worked is
that the hdmi audio
