Public bug reported:
Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, up-to-date. May be related to bugs 113095 and/or
197705.

The notification won't submit a report, though I have tried numerous
times. It says the report file is corrupted, then wants me to give my

For 12.04, the short answer is to install a local copy of Sun Java 6
update 32 or later. Even this is not a permanent solution as
thinkorswim won't stay installed. ToS used to work with 10.04 (on 64
bit AMD, with 64 bit OS), but since August 3, won't even install on 32
bit OS on 64 bit AMD.

The Add Printer dialog boxes apparently can only cope with a printer
connected to another computer. I've tried as many variations of "host"
as I can think of, including the most obvious, the printer's LAN address
