I have this issue on Lucid, and have had it for as long as I have used
evolution.
It seems to me that this is not caused by evolution forgetting the password,
but rather by the occasional inability to reach the email server. If you
connect to the server every 10 minutes for a day or two, sometime
As a workaround, If I set wine to use an emulated desktop instead of real
fullscreen mode, this crash does not occur.
It also does not seem to occur even in fullscreen mode on my eee pc 901 Ubuntu

lsinput clarified the situation, there's event9 which is called "Asus
EeePC extra buttons". with keymap -i, I get these results when pressing
the Fn-F3 through Fn-F9 buttons (not in that order).
$ sudo /lib/udev/keymap -i input/event9
Press ESC to finish

There is only one:

This is me pressing F7, Fn+F7, F8, Fn+F8, F9, Fn+F9:
Press ESC to finish

volume and mute keys are repeated
When I tried sudo /lib/udev/keymap -i input/event5, it did not even add
a line when using the volume and mute keys. It would not appear to
receive those. I disabled the bindings in GNOME, and tried again; same
result. other multimedia keys also produce nothing.

Binary package hint: openoffice.org
An .odt document created with openoffice.org with a table of contents,
when save as MS Office XP format, receives undeletable lines after the
table of contents. Each subsequent save/reopen sequence to the document
adds one undeletable line.
This is the affected document.
