Low priority cosmetic issue.
I copy in one window a directory tree. When I paste it and there is a
conflict on directories both the source and destination size is listed
as (null). I'd argue that either don't include size or fix the file
count that seems to work for the roo

System is an up to date Ubuntu 16.04. Run "software" program. Believe
it when it says you have updates. Try to log back in and packages are
broken. Cinnamon is semi removed (won't restart) and when you try to
reinstall it you get messages like:

Removing the Nvidia driver (nvidia-319-updates) and using the xserver-
xorg-video-nouveau driver makes no difference.

I've installed Cinnamon from the Ubuntu repository, not an external PPA.
The desktop comes up and I select the menu. The menu is unusable and
the entire desktop then hangs. The mouse moves (though I can't click on
anything) and I'm able to do a CRTL/ALT/F3 type of command.

After a reboot the update-manager appears in my Unity menu showing me
that there are some number of updates. But it cannot be left clicked.
At best a right click lets me "Install All Available Updates" but there
isn't a review prior to this.

(Edit->Preferences->Privacy->Accept cookies from sites->Keep until: ask
me every time) and I go to a site that sets a bunch of cookies the
dialogs to accept/reject the cookies pile up quickly. This in and of
itself is a bug as
Ubuntu 11.04 fixes this problem. I do not have a 10.10 machine to test
on anymore.

I reported a bug in Firefox today
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/668854) that is a very similar problem.
MP3 playback is several (5?) times sped up resulting a super choppy
playback. This is a 10.10 system that was upgraded from 10.04. 10.04
did not have this problem.

Thanks for the information. However, a help search turns up no hits for
GTK and one hit for Gnome. It is not at all clear how one goes about
reconfiguring the software to use a different file open dialog.
Further testing has shown that there is a similar issue with the Windows
version of writer.
I honestly thought the previous question was a joke - OO is not gedit.

When I attempt to do an File -> Open and enter a valid URL OO writer is
ignoring the protocol and always attempting to open the file via the
file system.
To repeat:
1) Go to the File -> Open dialog
2) Enter any valid URL - i.e. http://www.
The same issue occurs with a Dell Latitude D820. Worked perfectly in
7.10. No LED, no connection in 8.04.
