I downloaded hardy alpha-1 yesterday, and it also doesn't autoconfigure the
synaptics touchpad.

I did meet this problem on feisty! The standard install process did not add
synaptics to the xorg.conf, whereas the dpkg-reconfigure method later does.

I can reproduce this as well in fully updated feisty. After adding a
printer, evince does not allow to select duplex. After changing "duplex
installed" in the gnome printer manager it still doesn't work. After
changing it in the CUPS web interface, it does work.

This bug still exists on feisty. Moreover, on my system, once I started
vncviewer fullscreen, there is no possibility to quit it, except for
going to a text terminal and manually kill it.
Can we solve this or make xvnc4viewer the default vncviewer?

However, the screen blanks when I change the brightness, and sometimes it
doesn't come back up. (which can be solved by keeping changing the
brightness until the screen does come back up...)

On my toshiba sattelite 100-803 it outputs 'yes' (feisty x86-64).
BTW, edgy on an Acer 1310 series also didn't autoconfigure the synaptics
touchpad.
