The output follows below.
It really seems to be a problem of windows that are open before compiz is
started. Unfortunately, when I'm loading my session, the
keyring-password-dialog pops up just before compiz is launched, and
therefore the window isn't updated anymore (i.e., I can't see the asterisks
appear as I type the password).
Also, the firefox window is moved to the top of the screen (over the
gnome-panel) when I start compiz.

/usr/bin/compiz.real: Screen 0 on display ":0.0" already has a window
manager; try using the --replace option to replace the current window
manager.
/usr/bin/compiz.real: No manageable screens found on display :0.0

libGL warning: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x5b
/usr/bin/compiz.real: GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap is not supported by direct
rendering context, trying indirect rendering context instead
/usr/bin/compiz.real: No stencil buffer. Clipping of transformed windows is
not going to be correct when screen is transformed.
