There was a bug earlier in beta where the user was not automatically
added to the groups "use tape drives", "use scanner" and "send and
recieve faxes".
I had the exact same error message and adding those groups to my profile

I can confirm this bug. Switching to DHCP made my connection more
stable, but in roaming my connection is more down than active.
On my other PC which runs Vista, the connection is noticeably faster and
perfectly stable. They both use the same modem/router to access the
