Public bug reported: Clean install of Hardy daily ISO (either Ubuntu or Kubuntu) AMD64.
Install proceeds as expected (aside from one bug in the Kubuntu install), install seems to finish prematurely (progress bar is not finished) and the system starts the liveCD. (btw, I'm clueless as to why one should do that). Upon reboot, the system hangs with a GRUB error 15: file not found. It turns out that in /boot there is no /grub folder and there are no grub files to be found. Probably a missing menu.lst and such. I have tested this with both the Ubuntu and Kubuntu AMD64 daily ISOs and both have the exact same behavior, resulting in a system that cannot be used. I use my PC strictly for Ubuntu, so no other OSs are installed. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Hardy: daily ISO doesn't install Grub with installation https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/215641 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
