Lucid beta1, up to date as of March 21st.
I was playing a movie full screened in totem. I played it from the
beginning, occasionally skipping ahead to interesting parts. I was
probably playing the video for about a half hour.
An update on the status of this bug:
A daily 64-bit livecd image from March 20th, 2010 has the same problem
when booted from a usb stick (made u sing the usb startup disk creator
in 9.10), except that instead of saying it can't find /dev/sdf, it says
it can't find /dev/sr0 (ie, the dvdrw drive).

I'm using a current lucid daily 64 bit image as of 14-mar-10, booted
from a usb stick. The boot splash comes up and the progress bar
animates as if something is happening but the system never boots. There

This was fixed with with recent updates in Karmic, so i'm closing it.

Ok, after reinstalling a fresh amd64 alternate karmic daily as of
18-sep-09, the video works but the splash screen does not display (just
a black screen)

With a fresh installation of a daily Karmic alternate live cd as of 16
sep, 2009, the installation works fine, then upon booting the video does
not work at all (a black screen, cannot switch to a vt). Video was
