An update on the status of this bug: A daily 64-bit livecd image from March 20th, 2010 has the same problem when booted from a usb stick (made u sing the usb startup disk creator in 9.10), except that instead of saying it can't find /dev/sdf, it says it can't find /dev/sr0 (ie, the dvdrw drive).
If i burn the image to a dvd, it boots as expected. So, i expect that this problem is related to the way the installer looks for files. Hope that helps -- hangs while booting lucid 64-bit livecd (/dev/sdf: no medium found) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/538862 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
