I have the same problem using Kubuntu Karmic alternate CD. I can
encrypt a partition during install, but on reboot at the prompt for
password for encrypted partition, entering password and enter does
nothing. Pressing enter a second time results in failure.

I'm downloading a CD image in Jaunty and out of interest checked System
Monitor > Network History and it shows double the bandwidth that wget
shows.
My connection is limited to 16kB and most of the time wget (also apt) shows
14.9 k to 15.8 k.
System monitor shows between 28 k to 32 k, exactly twi

alternate CD, it refused to write grub to mbr, saying that it couldn't.

Kaffeine 0.8.6 in Hardy Beta with updates from April 2008 still crashes
with the dvdcss codecs installed. Is there something else that I need
to install to play DVD's? Vlc plays the same DVD without crashing and
the Hardy release notes point out that Kaffeine now should work.
