I was using an internet cafe, plugged the cable in and replied to mail. One reply was long and for some reason, either Kubuntu 8.04 or the server cut the connection, although the timer was still charging me for time. When I tried to send my reply, Thunderbird couldn't connect and when I tried to update Adept it crashed as the connection to the server wasn't working. Rather than crash, it should have detected that there was no active connection and given a message that a internet connection is needed to update.
